Homework Week of Jan.11 to jan.15,2010

HOMEWORK WEEK OF Jan.11 to Jan.15,2010
We are beginning to learn subtraction in Math. Please take a few minutes each night to review the homework. In class we are doing hands on activities to aid in the understanding of this concept.

In Social Studies we are continuing to read about where families live and the different communities.

1/11/2010 Monday: Reading: Phonics P 61 “Pats Story”
Re-read and cut out the short story
Review how Pat’s Day began and ended:
Write 2 sentences about Pat.
EXAMPLE: 1) Who is Pat?
2) What did Pat do first?



SPELLING: New spelling words are in folders: on, mom, job, hop, top, mop
Please write 3x each in notebook....


MATH: p 29: Problem Solving Strategies: Review how to write a number sentence
Look over how you solved problems 1 and 2

We will work on number sentences in class

SPELLING: Write a sentence for each word

MATH: P29: Continue to review how to write a number sentence: Complete #3 and #4

1/13/2010: Wednesday: Reading: Phonics: P 63: Short ‘a’ vowel sentences: LOOK at the picture
CIRCLE the word that completes the sentence
PRINT the word on the line

MATH: P30: Problem Solving Applications: Review how to solve problems: LOOK back at page 29 for help…..COMPLETE on p 30 Numbers 1 and 2 SHOW HOW YOU SOLVED THE PROBLEM IN YOUR WORKBOOK



Science: Re-read Textbook pages: A34 and A35: What coverings (fur, feathers, scales, etc)do animals need?

Answer questions 1,2,and 3 at the bottom of p 35 in your notebook
