1 In Math: PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRACTICE at home our in class math lessons. This at home practice will enable the children to make connections in everyday situations. We will be reviewing basic math facts 1 through 10. Ordinals:
EX: Places on line: First,second to tenth on line.
We will be reviewing addition and subtraction sentences and how to solve word problems.

2)In Science we will move on to physical science. How things work, how we move items from place to place. Social Studies: Reviewing how to find places and directions on maps. North/South/East and West/ New York/ California

3)THERE WILL BE NO SPELLING OR MATH TEST NEXT WEEK AS WE PREPARE FOR EASTER BREAK. THERE WILL BE WORK SHEETS SENT HOME ON APRIL 20TH,2011 FOR MATH/ STUDY SHEETS FOR SCIENCE AND SOCIAL STUDIES WILL BE SENT HOME

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1)In Math: PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRACTICE at home our in class math lessons. This at home practice will enable the children to make connections in everyday situations.

At home or when shopping have FUN locating pounds(lbs) on cereal boxes/or ounces (oz) on juice boxes or on water bottles.
Point out what a quart looks like( milk or juice).
Have children write down the items they found and play a game.
Example:Can you find the ounces on my water bottle?
Whose water bottle has more water? How do you know?
These continued activities will reinforce critical thinking, writing and math skills.

2)In Science and Social Studies we will continue to read and research how plants and animals share the environment with people.
