SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1)In Math we are continuing probability and looking at simple ways to choose items and relating them to math terms. Example:certain,possible ,or impossible. This math practice will improve children’s critical thinking and estimating skills. Try some fun activities at home to reinforce verbal and math skills. We will continue symmetry,same shape/same size and looking for patterns


2)In Science we will be reviewing recycling and look for connections in our reading and Social Studies . We will continue to read and discuss the importance of clean water for ourselves, pets and plants.

3)In Social Studies we will look for connections to our Science reading.
Example: How does the city get clean water? Is bottle water safe to drink?

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1)In Math we are moving on to simple
fractions and probability. Simple fractions,equal parts and thirds.
Children will be practicing in class with fractions: halves,thirds.

2)In Science we will continue to make the connection to math by reading and practicing measuring classroom temperatures and how to keep healthy and dress properly during the Winter season.

We will begin to make a weather chart based on page C 29. This will allow the children to see make connections to writing/ science and math: making lists
collecting and recording information. Reinforce spelling and recognition of the
days of the week and recognizing numbers on a thermometer.

3In Social Studies we will continue reading about different types of work
and jobs in our community. Examples: Police/fire/doctors/construction
