Homework Week of October 18th,2010

Special Announcements:



1) We are continuing stories in Super Kids readers.
2) We will read a story for 2-3 days so children will be able to identify main idea,plot and characters. This will help them transfer this critical thinking skill to their writing.
3 Phonics: We will be alternating between Phonics work book and Super Kids Phonics work book. Please practice writing lower case letters when you are doing phonics homework. This practice will help in developing writing skills.
4) Math: We will continue to practice Math Facts for 1 through 4.
We are moving on to sums of 9 and 10 and sums of 11 and 12. PLEASE CONTINUE TO REVIEW MATH FACTS daily.
Try a math question game” How many cars do you see? How many items did we buy?
5) Science: We will continue to read and discuss animals: how they live and grow and how we can protect their environment.
6) Social Studies: We are continuing our reading on communities. We will discuss the people in our community who help us everyday. For example: How do the police and fire departments help us stay safe?
7) All Homework in Science, Social Studies and Religion are to be done in Notebooks. PLEASE SIGN ALL HOMEWORK!!!
8) WE WILL CONTINUE TESTING WEEK OF 11/1/2010. THERE WILL BE MATH, SCIENCE,RELIGION AND PHONICS TEST.
STUDY SHEETS WILL BE IN FOLDERS FOR ALL TEST.
