Week of :January 31 to Feb.4,2011

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

1)In Math we are continuing measurement and how to measure temperature. Identify numbers on a thermometer.

2)In Science we will continue to make the connection to math by reading and practicing measuring classroom temperatures and how to keep healthy and dress properly during the Winter season.

We will begin to make a weather chart based on the chart on page C29. This will allow the children to see and make connections to writing/ science and math: making lists/ collecting and recording information. Reinforce spelling and recognition of the days of the week and recognizing numbers on a thermometer.

3)In Social Studies we will be reading about the different types of work and jobs we find people are engaged in our community. Examples: Police/fire/ doctors/ construction jobs.
